Programs & Services

Most special education students, ages 3-21, receive all necessary special education and related services within their own districts. Through its many partnerships, Tri-County Special Education Association provides member districts with access to a wide variety of specialized programs and services that enhance existing educational programs or assist parents of special education students. All Tri-County districts accept students from other Tri-County districts, on a tuition basis, if space is available and if the programming is appropriate.

Programs include the classrooms, teachers, materials, equipment, and instruction needed to foster and measure student learning.

Services are used to support instruction—to make it more effective. Support services include psychological and social work services, speech-language pathology, occupational and/or physical therapy, consultation services, collaborative problem solving, behavioral support, technical assistance, professional development or training for educators and parents, instructional or assistive technology, administrative support and many other services.
