Governing Boards

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee of Tri-County Special Education Association is comprised of one superintendent and one board member for each of seven member districts.  Lexington District #7 occupies one seat on the board because it is the administrative district for Tri-County.  Remaining seats are filled by the Regional Offices of Education:  3 districts in McLean County, 2 districts in Logan County, and 1 district in DeWitt County.  The Executive Committee is the governing board that adopts policies and procedures, approves personnel decisions, and provides ongoing oversight to all cooperative operations.

The Executive Committee typically meets on the first or second Thursday of the following months:  August, October, November, January, February, March, April, and June. Click here to review a schedule of Executive Committee meetings.

Association Council

A meeting of Tri-County’s Association Council occurs one to two times per year.  This board consists of a board member and the superintendent from each of Tri-County’s 15 school districts.  It approves the joint agreement (cooperative) budget and considers the global needs, accomplishments, and direction of the organization.  Click here to review the 2018-19 annual budget.

Lexington District #7

The Lexington School District serves as Tri-County’s administrative agent, providing essential fiscal and administrative services to the organization.  The Lexington School Board confirms many of the employment and fiscal decisions made by the Executive Committee and Association Council.
