Sometimes helping a child overcome a disability is like piecing together a quilt. Here is an example of how little steps and persistence can create a "pattern" for success.

Dr. Victoria Nelson
vnelson@tcsea.k12.il.us.

My name is Victoria Nelson, known to most as Vicky. I have been a psychologist in Clinton for fourteen years, serving students from early childhood to high school. Most recently, I have worked only at the elementary level. I perform psychological evaluations to help identify students who need special support to be successful in school, but I also consult with teachers about students with learning or behavioral problems and help to develop academic and behavior management plans. Most recently I have been interested in early literacy, and last year I developed a model to identify kindergarten students at risk for future reading difficulties, monitoring their progress, and teaching phonemic awareness skills to small groups of kindergartners at Washington School.
