Provides updates and initiatives at both the federal, state, and local level of education. Within the site there are many subheadings that address information on a variety of topics dealing with education in Illinois.

The Council for Exceptional Children www.cec.sped.org

National organization dedicated solely to the improvement of special education services. Provides a complete reference for all topics related to special education, and many other links to sites related to special education.

Global community that integrates information, resources, and communication opportunities on the Internet for persons with cognitive and other disabilities, for families their families, and for those that provide them service and support.

National Parent Information Network http://npin.org

Provides access to researched-based information about the process of parenting and about family involvement in education.

National Information Center for Children and Youth with Disabilities www.nichcy.org

Information and referral center servicing the United States, Puerto Rico, and the US Territories. It provides families, educators, students, and others with information on disability-related topics regarding children and youth, birth through 22. Many materials available in Spanish within the site.

STARNET www.wiu.edu/users/starnet

Provides a variety of professional growth activities for individuals working with children ages birth through eight. Also provides information regarding researched and effective practices in early childhood education and care.

Infinitec is a joint effort of United Cerebral Palsy Association of Greater Chicago and the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Washington D.C., formed to help people with disabilities and their families access life-enhancing technology. This web site has an abundance of information related to assistive technology and how to access technology.
